Apple unveils Motion, updates Final Cut Pro, more

Three updates, two new products at NAB

This week's National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2004 trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada gave Apple a forum to introduce a slew of products aimed and professional video and cinema markets. Motion is Apple's new text, graphics and animation package -- a new competitor for Adobe After Effects. Final Cut Pro HD is a free update to Final Cut Pro 4 that offers HD editing capabilities using the DVCPRO HD format. DVD Studio Pro 3 has been announced. And Shake, Apple's compositing and special effects tool, has been updated to version 3.5. Apple also introduced Xsan, a new storage area network (SAN) file system. In an interview after the event, Apple's Rob Schoeben talks to MacCentral about the releases.
