Macworld user reviews IN DETAIL:

Comcast Mobile App Good, But missing Key Features (3rd Attempt)

With Comcast Broadband Internet service, you get up to 7 e-mail addresses. One master for the account, and 6 more that you can turn on or off on a whim. This is good for reacting to spam - don't use the master, but rather only the secondaries. If one starts attracting spam, just kill it and create a new address. I do this, and each address is for a different purpose, bills, shopping, personal use, frivolous use, etc. Before Comcast switched their webmail access to SmartZone, you could log in to one webmail account, and manage all of your available e-mail accounts, both to receive and send. With SmartZone they have done away with this feature, and now you only have POP read access to e-mail accounts other than the one you log in to. This limitation is similar in the iPhone app. The real problem is that if you want to access the digital voice account, it is only available when logged in to the master account, which for me is the e-mail address I don't send from. If they could bring back access to the all e-mail accounts with only one login, they would infinitely increase the usefulness of this app. This is because when using the iPhone mail app, while I can read incoming mail from all my Comcast accounts, I can only send from the master, which is the ONE I really DON'T want to send from. The Comcast app DOES let me send from the secondary accounts, but I have to log in to each one separately. If they could unify all the accounts into one login, it would be the perfect situation for them, and I would raise my review by 2 stars. -- Regarding the remote control of the DVR, others, ATT Uverse and DirecTV, already have this capability for the iPhone. Comcast just needs to catch up. Supposedly they are working this for a future rev of this app. Hopefully they will recognize that some households have multiple DVRs and let you remotely select which unit to control. This feature is also worth 2 stars in my review. -- Kudos to Comcast for working with iPhone, an
