BATTLE BEARS is the newest action-packed 3D shooter game from SkyVu Pictures. Oliver the teddy bear is stuck behind enemy lines and has to survive unending waves of adorable Pink Bears wishing to HUG HIM TO DEATH! Armed with his trusted rifle and a whole lot of attitude, Oliver blasts away armies of cute Huggable Bears and earns powerful weapons along the way.
Directed by CORALINE animation artist Benjamin Vu, BATTLE BEARS takes you to the next level of iPhone gaming with advanced 3D characters, weapons, and levels. The game reveals animated cut scene movies while climbing 20 levels of an increasingly intense battle.
Gameplay is simple and fun. Use one thumb to aim and use your other thumb to tap-and-fire. The easier Aiming Style 2 which only requires one finger is available in the Options Menu.

Amateurish first-person shooter can be a guilty pleasure
There are iPhone games that challenge your mind, some that give you staggering graphics, and others that let you play out your childhood fantasies. Battle Bears belongs in the latter category if your childhood fantasies involved gunning down hordes of cuddly teddy bears in a cartoonish, violent first-person gallery shooter setting.
I absolutely adore this game! Battle Bears is by far the best shooting game on the iphone! and hilarious too!
A surprisingly fun game but animation is only adequate
A surprisingly fun game with an unusual premise. You take the role of a cuddly teddy bear whose vehicle breaks down and must fight off hordes of cute pink bears that want to hug you to death. You aim your gun not by tilting the device, but by sliding one finger over the face of the screen so that the crosshairs appear over the target. You tap the trigger button to fire. The cut scene animation is basic but cute. The enemy bear animation is adequate. As the bears converge on you, your fortifications (sandbags) slowly disappear if you do not kill them off quickly enough. All in all, the game is fun, but the death sequence is a little disappointing. I expected to actually see the enemy bears hugging you to death, perhaps a closeup of one of their malevolently cute faces while squeezing the life out of you, and then everything turning dark. Instead, the enemy bears just keep waving their arms up and down and you slump over while a message appears saying "you were hugged to death."
