Amazon app offers lots of e-books, but could learn a lot from Stanza
Amazon’sKindle for iPhone is a gateway drug for e-book junkies. Amazon is giving iPhone users just enough of a taste of the Kindle experience with the free app to make them crave the real thing. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is saying to readers, in so many words, “You like that? For just $359, you can get even higher. Go ahead. You know you want to.”
I love that I can take my book with me everywhere without all the weight or bulk! Easy to read and easy to save my place and return quickly! Great for reading at night - I don't need one of those little book lights anymore!!! Prices to download books are very reasonable! I would not be without it!
cheap kindle alternative
As an alternative to the $300 Kindle, this is a great app, if you can live with a smaller screen and it's limitations on the itouch platform. I prefer the eReader app over this Kindle app (see my review for eReader), but for books that are cheaper/only available in Kindle format, this works nicely. I'm pleasantly surprised that my itouch is also my ereader and is now being used primarily for that purpose, although I have more ereader books than kindle books.
Solid
I'm a new Kindle user, and have only used the iPhone app a few times. That said, I think most reviews have underrated the app. I found it easy to read, very quick to navigate, and simple to find the controls (e.g., table of contents) through gestures.
