The CIA World Factbook is arguably the best value for a research almanac, bar none. The Factbook provides detailed information on the geographies, economies, populations, and militaries of more than 250 nations and territories spanning the globe. And all of the information is in the public domain, making it an attractive resource for developers to repackage and sell for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Macworld user reviews IN DETAIL:
Great bet settler
This is great for a free app. It has statistics for just about every country in the world. Some entries even have photographs. Flaws: the newest version is a little slow in starting up. Some of the photographs fail to load, and there is no search feature. Still, this is a great app for the price, and there is a complete table of contents. Comprehensive!
