Leave it to EA to leave no stone unturned for its Spore franchise. The brainchild of Sim City and The Sims maker Will Wright, Spore is living up to its concept and is evolving a broad range of game titles for various devices. Spore is available for the Mac and PC, and soon there will be expansion packs for it as there have been for Sims games. Spore Creatures was released for the Nintendo DS. And Spore Origins has been brought to the iPhone and the iPod.
The game is great! Easy to use, and also easy to play too. However, you can only get to land, and the game ends. The game is too short, there are times in the game when the game freezes, and sometimes the controls don't work very well. Aside from these flaws, the game is great!
Surprisingly addictive
The first stage of the full Spore game brought to the iPhone/iPod touch. It captures this stage of the game fairly faithfully. You guide your little amoeba-like creature through the water to food and past enemies. You can create your creature, change it's shape, add parts and choose its coloring. You can even use a photo from your iPod's photo collection as the creature's texture! Should you get this if you already have the full game? Possibly. Although the game is not a spectacular on the small screen as on, say, a 24 inch iMac, it does work well on the iPhone/iPod. The first stage of spore is an under appreciated level and can get overlooked in favor of the later, more complex levels. Also, you may not have as much time to play the full level of Spore in addition to all your other household duties, while you could find many spare moments to play it while on the road. the game is surprisingly addictive on the mobile device.
Almost perfect...
Great fun well produced game, but u can only go as far as getting to land. But outside of that long play setback this is one of the best.
