World Cup Table Tennis™ Review

Reviewed Version: 1.1

3-D table-tennis simulator looks great, but it's hard to play

World Cup Ping Pong, a $1 3-D table-tennis simulator from Skyworks with a free lite counterpart, is packed with features and looks great. Unfortunately, it’s just not very fun.

Macworld user reviews IN DETAIL:

It was fun to conquer it, but not much value beyond

Being able to consistently beat the handful of other country's players took awhile and was quite addicting. Once I finally mastered a technique that let me beat everyone, there's nothing left to do except possibly get a perfect score - beating all 3 opponents 11-0. The tournament is only 3 games long and after a while, it's like playing the same game over and over. Additional players are needed, and/or the ability to match up with someone nearby. Better yet, matching up over the internet (i.e. "Slugger") would make this a blast. It was great while it lasted.
