I love baseball! I check scores all the time, and I love to watch games. I am very impressed with the quality of this app. It updates very quickly over wifi and even not so bad over the edge network (I have a first gen iphone). The live video over wifi is INCREDIBLE. It is almost the same quality as online. If you love baseball and already an online subscriber to MLB.com, you need this app.

I was born and grew up in Philadelphia, but now I live in the Bay Area. I have been able to listen to every Phillies Game, with the Philly radio guys. (Although without Harry, the Giants radio guys rule). I have also been able to see quite a few games as well as video highlights. The price is a bargain for the hours I spend on this app. If the whole video package was a little cheaper, I would have bought that too.

MLB.com At Bat 2009 is really a great app. BUT ESPN gives you most of these features for FREE. Don't waste your money.

Whenever I'm showing someone my new iPhone, I have to show them this app to show all the possibilities that come with the iPhone. The audio streaming and gameday interface are great, and the video clips are just amazing (especially the condensed games the next day). But the kicker for me is the streaming video of at least a game or two a week. I hope they're able to roll this out for all games soon--I can kick my MLB.TV subscription to the curb! If I'd had this app when the season started, I don't think I would have even bought it...

Best sports related app

One of the first apps out of the gate last year, this second version has really improved upon the initial version by including live audio-- both home and away broadcasts-- as well as a new video recap. The video recap allows you to watch the whole game in about 10 mins. Perfect when traveling or not around to watch the game. Particularly useful as a Cubs fan. Now I only need 10 minutes to see the latest train wreck from the "lovable losers" . Only negative is that the app seems incapable of displaying double digit scores in the games page. Congrats MLB for taking a good app, making it great and setting the bar high for all other sports.
