App for reading online articles when offline is a first-rate offering

Instapaper is a fabulous application for the iPhone or iPod touch—truly first rate. As one who reads a lot online and off, I’ve quickly come to appreciate Instapaper as one of my favorite apps. It’s so easy to use, in fact, it’s tough to resist saving articles for later as just for excuse to whip out the phone and read something. Drives my wife and kids crazy.

Macworld user reviews IN DETAIL:

Does the job but..

I really dont understand why everybody is so excited about this App. Not only its cumbersome to work with, you need (yet another) account on some external servers which stores all the pages for you. Is this a cultural thing but as a European I would be deeply concerned about privacy here! And all this fuzz for the simple purpose of reading web pages offline. Why not implement a web page sucker and store it on the iPhone? We have a 16/32GB computer device in our hand but all that space is only for music and videos? I would appreciate any hint for a real and simple Web-Browser with a *real* offline cache mechanism...

Could benefit from better instructions

This app could benefit from better instructions. According to the in-app instructions, you sign up for an account, save pages for later reading from your computer and then use the iPhone app to read them whenever you want. However, neither the app or the program's website explains how to transfer saved pages to the iPod, nor does it do it automatically. The program could really benefit from better instructions.

efficient app

Instapaper is a pretty cool and simple concept (install it on your browser, Mac or PC) and have the app: saves time and its a efficient and structured way to deal with "will read it later".

Great app for the iphone

I follow several blogs but can't always take the time to read them during the day. With Instapaper I can download the blogs to my iphone and read them whenever and wherever I choose. It's easy and it's free. You can't ask for more than that.
