Quality varies widely for documents scanned by digital copier app
JotNot is an odd application; its usefulness depends almost entirely upon integration with your existing workflow. By itself, JotNot does little more than enhance images of text which you take with your iPhone’s camera by adjusting perspective, sharpness, and contrast to make letters more legible. If this sounds absurdly simple to you, think of it this way: JotNot aims to be a small digital copy machine in your pocket, essentially letting you scan receipts, business cards, and whiteboard doodles.

Macworld user reviews IN DETAIL:
Very good but imperfect little document scanner
I have come to really appreciate what JotNot has to offer. It's a basic virtual scanner that performs pretty well. You won't get as good of results as you would with a basic flatbed scanner, but for scans that do not need to be perfect, it's a good substitute. It's especially helpful (maybe essential) for anyone who uses Evernote, especially since they recently included an "Send to Evernote" option. You can also email the scanned document as a PDF, JPG, or PNG. Also, contrary to the Macworld review, the current version does let you save the original if you want, and you can reapply the enhancements if it didn't exactly turn out the way you want.My biggest complaint is that there is no way to rotate the image. Because many documents are photographed lying on a table, the iPhone does not always orient the image properly. It would be nice to be able to rotate the image to the proper orientation before sending it out or saving it. Also, the options are not organized within the app very cleanly. All options are scattered among different settings screen as they have been added, and you get a sense that the UI could use a refresh that neatly incorporates all of the features.Overall, I am pleased with how this app adds to my workflow. I carry around fewer notes and slips of paper. It's much easier to simply "scan" the paper with JotNot and either save it to my phone or send it directly to Evernote. At $4.99, it's a good price for a good app.
