Tasty Review

Take your Delicious bookmarks with you, with the help of this intuitive app

With online bookmarking and—even better—social bookmarking—all your bookmarks are available to you from any computer with an Internet connection. Tasty takes this concept a step further. The $12 application from Succont lets your bookmarks travel with you on an iPhone or iPod touch.

What’s Hot: In addition to giving you access to your Delicious bookmarks from your iPhone or iPod touch, Tasty aslo shows you the most popular bookmarks on Delicious.com.

Specifically, Tasty puts your Delicious bookmarks in the palm of your hand. If you’re not familiar with Delicious, it’s a social bookmarking site that not only stores your bookmarks online for easy access from anywhere but also allows its users to share bookmarks. If you don’t already have a Delicious account it’s easy and free to set up.

Once you sign into your Delicious account via Tasty, you’re able to see all of your bookmarks organized by tags or bundles as well as ones you’ve recently bookmarked complete with favicons. A button at the top of the home screen shows the most popular and most recent (or “fresh”) bookmarks on Delicious.com. The app also gives you access to your inbox and subscriptions; if you have any networks set up you can view those as well.

Tasty also lets you save new bookmarks to your Delicious account from within the mobile version of Safari. I found it a little cumbersome to set up this functionality, which requires you to drag a bookmarklet from Succont’s Web site into the bookmark bar on your desktop version of Safari before syncing your bookmarks to your mobile device.

Delicious is a fantastic social bookmarking service—it’s a great way to discover new content on the Web as well as share your findings with others. Succont has done a really good job of bringing this platform to the iPhone via Tasty. The interface is simple and intuitive making using this app pleasure. That said, the $12 price tag is really high for this kind of app; hopefully Succont will lower it eventually to a more attractive price.

Tasty is compatible with any iPhone or iPod touch running the iPhone 2.x software update.

Our user reviews IN DETAIL:

Best delicious app out there

Wow. This app just works. Great feature set and easy to use. Very fast and comes with a complete integration into the common twitter clients.

The social view

Before my iPhone time I used delicious just to save bookmarks when I wanted to find them later. I am commuting 80 km to the university in Gothenbourg and so I'm often sitting on the bus(-station) or on the train(-station) and wait. When I got my iPhone I could at least listen to music or surf the web.I tried to use the browser version of delicious but it is just ugly and slow. So I tried out Tasty (even if the price was the double I am usally paying for iPhone apps). I love this social thing in Tasty that I am able to start up the app and check out the bookmarks of my friends when I am waiting for the bus or something because I don't have the time at home to do that.I don't have to login somewhere or surf thru tenths of sites to get to where I want. It's just open up the app, two clicks and all my friends bookmarks are available and I can read them directly in Tasty without changing to Safari or something. And then when the bus is comming I I just put the iPhone into my pocket. The only thing which I'd like to change is the price, other clients cost half the price. Yes I know that tasty can do more but when I am buying a app for $3.99 I don't think about it. When it gets to over $10 I am a little bit worried if it really holds what the add is promissing. But don't get me wrong now when I know how great it works I'd buy it again anytime.

Powerful and fantastic delicious.com client

I always surf on the internet. Delicious.com is a great service to manage and collect my bookmarks. Now i can do it on my iPhone using Tasty. Tasty can do everything that i can do on the delicious.com web site. I use it to browser fresh bookmarks on the world and make my own bookmarks. I also use it to replace with the default mobile safari in the iPhone. You never need to input the web site address hardly. Enjoy the purely comfort of surfing.Bon Appétit --- Just get Tasty right now.

Great Delicious Client!

This is a fantastic delicious client, in my opinion the best available in the App Store. The price at first glance appears a little steep, but in all honesty if you're a serious delicious user this is worth the price. I tried a couple of other clients with little satisfaction until finding Tasty. On top of everything, Tasty is a lot more stable than its competitors. This was a constant problem I ran into with other clients, crashing left and right as they downloaded information from delicious and in a few instances tried to generate thumbnails of sites. Tasty didn't have that problem, it just worked! It includes all the bells and whistles you need to socialize with your bookmarks and all from the palm of your hand with your handy dandy iPhone. Don't delay, go grab a taste for yourself! ;)
