Sam Raimi's vision of Spider-Man hits theaters this Friday, and it's one of the most hyped action movies of the year so far. Featuring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and Willem Dafoe, it's the story of Marvel Comics' popular comic-book web-slinging superhero.
Spider-Man has long been fodder for the imagination of game developers, and a few months ago Mac game publisher Aspyr Media brought the Activision version of the game to the Mac. Based on an earlier title released for PC and PlayStation, the game is a third-person action title that puts you in control of Spidey as he seeks to unravel a fiendish plot hatched in the mind of his nemesis Doctor Octopus.
The movie focuses on Spider-Man's origins and his arch-nemesis, The Green Goblin, but that isn't putting the damper on Aspyr's enthusiasm. As a special promotion to celebrate this Friday's nationwide debut of the new motion picture, Aspyr is offering folks a US$10 reduction on the suggested retail price of the Mac Spider-Man game, for sale via Aspyr's online store.
So for the moment, you can buy the game for $29.95 plus shipping and handling. If your spider-sense is tingling, it's probably because this offer is available this week only. If you haven't already picked up a copy, here's your chance.
