ViewSonic rolls out new CRT, LCD displays

The display specialists at ViewSonic Corp. have expanded their line of monitors with four Mac compatible displays.

There are two new CRT displays, the P95f+ and the P75f+, and two new LCD monitors, the VE510+ and the VX500+. All are the first in ViewSonic's line to feature UltraBrite technology, which lets you increase screen brightness up to three times higher than normal with the touch of a button. The displays are targeted to professionals who require high-end performance and superior color richness when working on graphic or Web design, video or photo editing, desktop publishing or gaming applications, according to Seth Ngin, product manager at ViewSonic.

The 19-inch (18.0" viewable screen) P95f+ PerfectFlat display has a super fine aperture grille pitch of 0.25-0.27mm for creating sharp, crisp images and a maximum resolution of 1920x1440. The 17-inch (16.0 viewable screen) P75f+ also features an ultra fine 0.25mm aperture grille pitch and a maximum resolution of 1792 x1344. The P95f+ and P75f+ are available in black or beige, and have an estimated street price of US$345 and $235 respectively.

In the LCD space, the 15-inch VE510+ is targeted to small office/home office, education, government and corporate users. At an estimated street price of $499, the VE510+ offers 300 nits of brightness, a 450:1 contrast ratio, and an optimum resolution of 1024x768. It's encased in a two-toned metallic and black design with 2x2-watt bezel integrated speakers.

Designed for technical users and corporate executives, the $539, 15-inch VX500+ features 330 nits of brightness, a contrast ratio of 550:1 and a 1024x768 optimum resolution. It comes with bezel-integrated speakers, soft-touch controls, a microphone and OptiSync technology for analog and digital inputs.

Standard on all four displays is an OSD lock option to prevent accidental changes to personalized monitor settings.

The P95f+, P75f+ and VE510+ will be available in June through authorized ViewSonic resellers, distributors and mail order catalogs. The VX500+ will be available in July.
