Adobe acquires Fotiva

Adobe Systems Inc. today announced the acquisition of Fotiva Inc. (formerly PhotoTablet Inc.) The privately held company makes consumer-based digital image management, storage and distribution software. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Citing the need for digital photo users to organize their images, Adobe Graphic Business Unit Senior Vice President Bryan Lamkin said that Adobe's focus with this acquisition is to improve the digital photography experience.

"The acquisition of Fotiva will let us deliver strong image management solutions that complement our industry-leading image editing product line, which today includes Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements and PhotoDeluxe," said Lamkin.

Fotiva co-founder Michael Slater said his team is thrilled to be joining forces with Adobe. "Through this acquisition, we now have the resources to deliver even more fully on our vision of making digital memories a fun and valued part of everyone's life," said Slater.
