Logitech on Wednesday announced its new US$79.95 QuickCam Zoom Webcam that's Mac OS X compatible.
QuickCam Zoom delivers VGA (640x480 pixel) photos and videos. It includes digital zoom software, which offers the option to pan, tilt and zoom up to three times the normal viewing size. Logitech's face-tracking software automatically enables the camera to pan, tilt and zoom-in on a person's face, keeping it centered during a video instant messaging session or when recording a video e-mail. QuickCam Zoom, which uses a USB connection, also includes a built-in microphone.
Logitech's new QuickCam 8.0 software is bundled with QuickCam Zoom. It's Mac OS X compatible and works with video-enabled Yahoo! Messenger for Mac OS X. Unfortunately, the QuickCam Zoom Webcam doesn't work with iChat AV.
