Boris FX announced on Thursday that it will soon release version 3 of its Continuum Complete and Continuum Complete AVX sets of plug-in filters created for a variety of digital video applications. The new edition includes more than 50 new dynamic filters, OpenGL acceleration, and integration with the native video editing environment.
The filters offered in Continuum Complete 3 include Lens Flare, Glint, Glare, DeGrain, Motion Blur, Glow Matte, Wire Remover, and more. All the filters, as well as apply modes, motion tracking, high-quality keying, blending of layers, and presets, are available in the native timeline. Continuum Complete 3 is compatible with Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Discreet Combustion, eyeone Software Digital Fusion, Media 100 844/X, and Boris Red.
Continuum Complete AVX 3 works with Avid Xpress, Xpress DV, and Xpress Pro, as well as Media Composer, Film Composer, and Symphony. Its new features include the ability to apply multiple filters to keyed elements or titles without affecting background elements, a new PixelChooser that allows you to define a masked region by drawing a vector-based polygon onscreen, and acceleration controls that allow spatial parameters to ease in and out of keyframes more naturally.
The AVX version of Continuum Complete 3 is expected to ship in March. The edition that supports Avid Xpress DV and Avid Xpress Pro will carry a US$795 price tag and the one that supports Adrenaline and Meridien-based systems will run $1,995.
Continuum Complete 3 will ship in the second quarter for $795.
Upgrades for Avid Adrenaline and Media Composer users will be $599 while those using other applications can upgrade for $249.
