MCE intros slot-loading CD-R/RW drive for original iMacs

MCE Technologies has introduced an internal 24X slot-loading CD-R/RW drive that replaces the tray-loading CD-ROM drive found in the original iMac. It can burn CDs in iTunes and the Finder, and it ships with Roxio's Toast Lite software. The drive burns CD-R and CD-RW media at 24X and 16X speed, respectively, with the ability to read CDs at 24X speed as well as read data off DVD-RAM, DVD-R and DVD-RW discs. It requires Mac OS X v10.1.5 or higher and is compatible with original iMacs Rev. A-D, which ran at 233, 266 and 333MHz. The retail price is US$179.
