Aspyr Media on Monday announced its Mac conversion of the hit strategy game Homeworld 2 has gone gold master, the final step before a game goes into duplication and hits store shelves. The game is expected to begin shipping by the end of September and is available for pre-order now for $50. Developed by Relic Entertainment and published on the PC by Sierra, Homeworld 2 is a sprawling real-time strategy game set in outer space, where you lead the Hiigarans and their massive Mothership on a quest to confront an enemy bent on their destruction.
System requirements for Homeworld 2 call for a G4/800MHz or faster, 256MB RAM, Mac OS X v10.2.8, 1GB free HD space, ATI Radeon 7500 or Nvidia GeForce2 MX or better 3D graphics with at least 32MB VRAM, and 8x CD-ROM drive. Internet and LAN multiplayer is supported, but is Mac-to-Mac only.
