Apple releases Fibre Channel Utility Update

System administrators who take care of Mac OS X Server systems equipped with Fibre Channel host bus adapters may be interested in Apple's new Fibre Channel Utility v1.0.3 update. Fibre Channel host adapters are high speed interconnect interfaces used most commonly in conjunction with storage systems. The Xserve requires a Fibre Channel card to connect to an Xserve RAID storage system, for example.

The update "addresses issue of WWPN and WWNN not being displayed in user interface," according to Apple. Other changes in this release include: "Addresses cosmetic issue with regards to multi-byte text getting improperly truncated. Lastly, resolves an issue with incorrect port status being reported on Brocade SilkWorm 3800 switch." System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.6 or higher.
