Valencia, Calif.-based touchscreen system manufacturer Troll Touch announced Monday that the availability of Apple Computer Inc.'s iMac G5 equipped with its TouchSTAR3 touchscreen technology. The addition of touchscreen technology makes iMac G5s suitable for point of sale locations, information kiosks and other applications where a keyboard and mouse aren't the optimal way to enter data. Troll Touch makes the technology for 17 and 20-inch iMacs.
TouchSTAR3 comprises an analog resistive touchscreen overlay and a proprietary, high-resolution USB controller. Troll Touch can either modify an existing iMac G5 if you send it to them, or can sell you an iMac G5 already modified with the touchscreen technology. Pricing was not announced.
