Omni Group intros OmniOutliner Pro Beta, more

The Omni Group has released the public Beta of OmniOutliner Professional as well as an update of its Beta for OmniOutliner 3.0. This new version of the developer's outlining tool features support for attachments and links to external URLs, rich formatting options for presentations, inline images, a batch find function and more. The Pro edition extends the functionality with folded editing, named styles, audio recording support and more.

Both Betas, which feature a 10-seat license, expire on Jan. 20, 2005. The Omni Group expects to ship the final versions of both applications in early 2005. Omni Outliner 3.0 will sell for US$39.95 when it ships, while OmniOutliner 3.0 Professional will be $69.95. Anyone purchasing version 2.0 between Nov. 3 and the release date of the version 3.0 will be able to upgrade for free -- upgrades from version 2.0 to version 3.0 will cost $19.95, while upgrades to the new Professional edition will be $49.95. Educational discounts will be available.
