Aspyr's Game Agent checks Mac specs vs. game reqs

Acknowledging the frustration some gamers face when trying to figure out if their current hardware can run a game well, or at all, Aspyr Media on Monday released Game Agent. Users can download and run the free utility to obtain an analysis of their Macintosh computers -- including OS version, RAM amount, video card specs and processor speed -- and see which Aspyr games they can and can't play on their hardware.

Game Agent also provides summaries of hardware and software updates needed for titles that won't run at all; it automatically updates its list of games and their system requirements so that current information is always available. In addition, gift-givers can use Game Agent's drop-down menu to select specific Macs and see which games will run on them. Aspyr said it will continue to expand Game Agent's capabilities with future updates to the software.
