Objective Decision on Wednesday released OD4Contact 2, a major update to its personal information manager (PIM) and contact relation management software. OD4Contact 2 features a complete redesign and "dramatic speed increase," according to the developer. OD4Contact 2 features Rendezvous support, Bluetooth phone management, real time sync with Address Book and more.
A new "Communication Center" module lets you sort and filter e-mails, phone calls, postal mails and faxes by person, date or type. It also gathers all Mail.app e-mails in real time and links them to your contacts. A new "enterprise" meta-contact can contain any contacts working for a specific company -- contacts dragged into that group will automatically retain group data. You can also create e-mail models for "mass-sending" complete with automatic variables; you can use your own HTML templates as well. Other changes, feature enhancements and bug fixes have been made in this release too.
OD4Contact 2 costs US$54.90 and is a free upgrade for version 1.x users. System requirements call for Mac OS v10.3 or higher and 384MB RAM.
