DashboardDeveloper is a new Web site community for developers working on "Widgets" designed to work with Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger's" new " Dashboard " feature. Widgets are mini-applications created using HTML, CSS and JavaScript that serve various purposes, like weather forecasting, stock tracking, calculation and conversion, or anything else the developer dreams up.
While Tiger isn't out yet -- Apple says it's on-track for a release sometime in the first half of 2005 -- early development builds of the software have already been seeded to registered Apple developers. DashboardDeveloper has been started to help developers upload and share their widgets, screenshots and descriptions of how the widgets work. Other users can download and leave comments on the widgets.
