Terra Soft Solutions Inc. announced Wednesday that its PowerPC-based Linux implementation, Yellow Dog Linux, now supports the Mac mini and iMac G5. More than 70 updates have been made to this version 4.0.1 release, including the return of sleep and audio to pre-G5 systems, thermal support for G5s and much more. Security updates have been made, installer bugs have been fixed, and USB audio device support has been added as well.
Terra Soft expects to deliver production CDs within two weeks, but Yellow Dog Linux v4.0.1 is available immediately to users who have YDL.net Enhanced accounts. Yellow Dog Linux costs US$29.95 to $89.95 depending on which package you choose. More details are available from Terra Soft's Web site.
