Apple on Tuesday released Mac OS X v10.4.2, the latest version of their “Tiger” operating system. The update has been released for both the client version and the Server version of Tiger. The new version is available for download for Tiger users from the Software Update system preference pane, and can also be downloaded from Apple’s Web site.
Mac OS X v10.4.2 touts “overall improved reliability and compatibility for Mac OS X v10.4 and is recommended for all users,” said Apple.

From Apple’s Web site, separate versions have been made available that update the original Mac OS X v10.4 release (listed as a Combo update), as well as the more recently released 10.4.1. Make sure to select the version appropriate to your installation if you’re not using the Software Update system preference to download the update.
