Aspyr Media Inc. announced Wednesday plans to publish The Sims 2 University, the first expansion pack for the hit game The Sims 2. Coming in November, the game will require the original Sims 2 to run. You can get more information about the expansion pack from EA’s Web site, though Aspyr’s Web site will eventually include information also.
The Sims 2 is the sequel to the best-selling computer game of all time. You control simulated people, called Sims, as they go about their lives, helping them decorate their homes, find jobs, make friends, find their true loves and raise families, and have a good time.
The new expansion pack takes your young adult Sims (a new age group unique to this expansion pack) away from home to live their lives at college, becoming the “big sim on campus.” They can party with friends, join fraternities or sororities and more in a college town environment. They’ll visit lounges, gyms, coffee houses and more, earn degrees to open up new career paths and more. The expansion pack adds more than 100 new objects and decor items to the game, as well.
System requirements for the Mac version haven’t been announced, but aren’t expected to differ much from original game: Mac OS X v10.3.8 or later, G4/1.2GHz or faster, 256MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9000 or Nvidia GeForce FX5200 or better 3D graphics with at least 32MB VRAM.
