REALbasic 2005 Release 3 ships

Austin, Texas’ REAL Software Inc. on Tuesday announced the release of REALbasic 2005 for Macintosh Release 3. The newest version of their application development environment touts new 3D graphics capabilities and more than 100 bug fixes, according to the developer. A free update for REALbasic 2005 users, the software starts at US$99.95.

REALbasic 2005 can be used as a rapid application development (RAD) environment and works as a full blown development environment. REAL Software says that REALbasic is similar to the popular Visual Basic software used in the Windows operating system. But the added benefit of REALbasic is that you can also create cross-platform applications that work on Windows and Linux operating systems as well.

In related news, REALbasic 2005 for Windows Release 3 also started shipping. That new release features improve compatibility with Visual Basic, a more stable debugger and other important changes. REAL Software has also officially released REALbasic 2005 for Linux.
