On2 Technologies Inc. announced Monday the release of On2 Flix Exporter 8, software that can take video from Apple pro apps like Compressor and convert them to Flash 8 video format (FLV). On2 Flix Exporter 8 costs US$149.
Working within Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro workflows, On2 Flix Exporter 8 lets you send video to Flash 8 video format without having to leave the application — it’s accessible through the toolbars. Two-pass video is supported, as is alpha channel encoding. The software supports fractional frame rates and can output FLV and SWF formats.
On2 Technologies is the developer of the video compression technology that Macromedia selected in Flash 8.
System requirements call for a G3 or faster, Mac OS X v10.3 or later, 128MB RAM, 25MB hard disk space, Safari 2.0 or later, Flash 8 player and QuickTime 6 or higher.
