San Diego, Calif.-based Veoh Networks Inc. on Wednesday announced that more than 3,000 videos are available for download to Apple’s new video-enabled iPod. The videos are free.
Veoh offers a Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feed to let net-savvy users view samples of what they’ll find online. The videos themselves are downloaded through Veoh’s client software, which runs on the Mac and Windows.
Veoh’s software creates a “virtual television network” on the Mac or PC, enabling companies and individuals to distribute video to computers equipped with broadband Internet connections. The tools to watch or broadcast video are both offered for free at the moment.
In September, Veoh announced the first public beta release of its software. In October, Veoh indicated it would add support for the video iPod.
Veoh said it plans to add support for other portable video-capable devices soon.
