Apple’s senior vice president of design Jonathan Ive received the prestigious title Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II. Ive is credited with leading the design of Apple’s iPod, iMac and other award-winning devices.
Ive has worked for Apple since 1992 and has headed the company’s design efforts for nearly a decade. Ive was born in England and trained in design at Newcastle Polytechnic. He and Apple have won numerous design awards over the years, including plaudits from the British D&AD group, the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and more.
