Now, every day is Saturday Night Live at the iTunes Music Store, as content from the long-running NBC sketch comedy series is now available at Apple’s online music store. Steve Jobs announced the content deal during his keynote Tuesday at Macworld Expo.
Individual SNL sketches will be sold as $2 downloads. The store also offers two $15 volumes of sketches and a $10 collection of commercial parodies. In addition, the store features “Best Of” compilations from 10 ex-cast members for $10 to $12.
Saturday Night Live is the latest NBC program to become available for purchase at the iTunes Music Store. In December, NBC added a number of programs, including The Office , Monk , and reruns of older shows such as Knight Rider . Disney also offers television shows from its various television channels as iTunes downloads; the media giant expanded its iTunes offerings earlier this month.
One of those recently added programs from Disney— college football bowl game highlights from ESPN—is currently the most popular video offering on iTunes, Jobs said Tuesday. The company has sold 8 million videos through iTunes since it began offering the content in early October.
