Feral to bring The Movies game to the Mac

Feral Interactive on Friday announced plans to bring forth a Macintosh conversion of Lionhead’s simulation and strategy game The Movies.

The Movies puts you in the seat of a Hollywood movie mogul — you pick the stars for your pictures, innovate new technology, and can even direct the movies yourself. You control the destinies of your cast and crew, hiring and firing them, controlling script content, marketing your features and more. The Movies spans a century of filmmaking, from 1920 to 2005. The Movies also features the ability to post your movies on line for other The Movies players to watch.

In announcing the Macintosh conversion, Feral did not provide a specific release date or system requirements. The publisher noted that The Movies will be released as a Universal Binary, however, so it will play natively on Intel-based Macs.

This is a trifecta for Feral Interactive, which has secured two other licensing deals with Lionhead Studios, a popular game developer headed by legendary designer Peter Molyneux. Feral is also working on Macintosh conversions of the “god” strategy game Black & White 2 and the fantasy role playing game Fable: The Lost Chapters.
