Curio brainstorming app goes Universal

Zengobi on Wednesday announced the release of a Universal Binary version of Curio, its brainstorming and document management software for Mac OS X. The new 3.1 release also touts new features. It’s a free update for 3.0 customers — others can buy it starting at $39.

Curio is designed to replace or complement a whiteboard or sketchbook — you can assemble collages of text, images, outlines, checklists, documents, sketches and movies on Curio pages. What’s ore, you can create a customizable dossier that helps you define project goals and constraints. Built in flowcharting and mind-mapping tools help you create conceptual diagrams. An Internet search assistant called Sleuth lets you research and compile information. Built-in sketching capabilities work hand-in-hand with pressure-sensitive drawing tools like pen tablets.

In addition to a Universal Binary release that works natively on PowerPC and Intel-based Macs, Curio 3.1 adds new features including search term highlight, idea space hoisting and improved PDF display options.

Curio is available in Basic, K-12, Home and Professional Editions for $39, $50, $79 and $129 respectively. Each version sports a different feature list. A downloadable demo is also available.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.
