Data Rescue II gets Universal treatment

Prosoft Engineering on Tuesday announced the release of Data Rescue II v1.1, updated with a Universal Binary that runs natively on Intel-based Macs. A free update for existing Data Rescue II users, the software costs $99. An updated bootable CD download is also available for $5.

Data Rescue II focuses on data recovery from corrupt or damaged hard drives. The software is optimized for Tiger but runs on Panther and Jaguar, as well. It can scan for deleted files and retains authorization. It recovers content to a second drive — either an external hard drive, FireWire disk, removable media or network volume.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2 or later, 128MB RAM and HFS or HFS+ partitions.
