NAB: Pro Import FCP translates Avid Title Effects, more

Automatic Duck has released Pro Import FCP 2.0, a new version of its import tool for Final Cut Pro. Pro Import FCP 2.0 costs $495; users of the previous version can upgrade for $195.

Pro Import FCP lets Final Cut Pro users import Open Media Framework (OMF) v2.0 files from Avid-based digital video editing systems and now Dididesign Pro Tools-based digital audio workstations.

Also new to this release is the ability to import 24fps sequences from Avid editing systems; translate Avid Time Warp effects into FCP Time Remapping; translate Avid Title effects into FCP Text Generators, import AAF 1.1 Edit Protocol files, and creation of an HTML exception log for detailed analysis of import results.
