Camino 1.0.1 released

The Camino Project has released Camino 1.0.1, the Mozilla-derived free Web browser specifically for Mac OS X. The update is recommended for all users.

Camino uses the Gecko rendering engine and is designed to be fast, efficient and safe. It features tab-based browsing, download pause and resume, pop-up blocking and more. It’s also a Universal Binary that runs natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs.

Camino 1.0.1 is a “security and stability update” for Camino 1.0. Several critical security issues have been corrected, and Camino uses version 1.8.0.3 of the Mozilla Gecko rendering engine. The Java Embedding plug-in has bee updated to version 0.9.5+d. Ad-blocking has been improved, especially for German ads. Locally stored SVG files can now be opened. And Camino on Intel-based Macs can now read Keychain entries stored by Camino on PowerPC-based Macs.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2 or later, 128MB RAM and 50MB hard disk space.
