Aspyr Media noted on Friday that it has posted a Web page for its forthcoming release of Sid Meier’s Civilization IV, the hotly anticipated strategy game. It’s accepting pre-orders for the game now, as well. What’s more, Apple has posted a QuickTime trailer of Aspyr’s forthcoming first person shooter Call of Duty 2.
Sid Meier’s Civilization IV is the latest iteration of the legendary strategy game franchise in which you rule a civilization from its humble beginnings through to the space age and beyond. You can rule through diplomacy and trade, military aggression, technological or social development and more.
The new version of Civilization features an overhauled interface with a more real time strategy game style and intuitive command structure. You can also play varying multiplayer games, including Play By Email (PBEM), Internet, LAN and hot seat modes. Civ 4’s final system requirements have not yet been announced — Aspyr typically does so four to six weeks before their games ship — but Civilization IV looks on track for a June release, so there should be news soon.
Call of Duty 2 the forthcoming World War II-themed first person shooter that puts you in the role of different Allied soldiers assaulting the Germans during World War II. You’ll travel from North Africa to D-Day to the Russian front as you fight the Nazi menace, slogging through different weather conditions and commanding other soldiers using better artificial intelligence (AI) than ever before.
