AEC Software on Monday released a maintenance update to its FastTrack Schedule project management software for Mac OS X. The new 9.0.1 update touts new features including the ability to open Microsoft Project templates and files on Intel-based Macs and more. It’s a free update for registered users; a trial version is also available. A new license costs $349.
FastTrack Schedule 9 provides users with project management capabilities for planning both short-term and long-term projects. You can schedule projects and include hyperlinks to essential files, link tasks graphically, run spreadsheet-style calculations, track dates, durations, resources needed, produce Gantt charts and much more.
New to this release is enhanced data exchange with Microsoft Project using Extensible Markup Language (XML). What’s more, FastTrack Schedule 9 features the ability to open .MPT and .MPP files (used by Microsoft Project) on Intel-based Macs.
FastTrack Schedule 9.0.1 supports horizontal scrolling using Apple’s Mighty Mouse; inserts pictures and graphics to create custom milestones or bar start/end points, and adds the ability to acquire project info from MPX files created by other software.
