MacPractice adds new automation features, more

MacPractice has announced the forthcoming release of MacPractice MD, DC and DDS 2.2. The new versions of the practice management software for doctors, dentists and chiropractors is coming in August, and works with Intel and PowerPC-based Macs.

New features in MacPractice 2.2 include “Transparencies,” which control which procedures can be scheduled at what times. Multiple appointments can be made for a patient at one time as well.

MacPractice 2.2 also features debit and credit card charging capabilities, e-statement creation and delivery, electronic remittance advice (ERA) and e-claim support for Medicare claims. A new Encounter Manager tracks patient visits and charges and the Batch Charge Manager can post dental treatment plan procedures and charges.

Integration with PhoneHerald makes it possible to automate appointment confirmation by phone. And SmileReminder communicates with patients using personalized, real-time text messages to cell phones, e-mail, pagers and PDAs.
