Sonoma Wire Works has completed its extensive beta period and has released Riffworks 2.0 for Mac OS X. The first time Riffworks has been made available for the Mac, the application has been released as a Universal Binary, supporting Intel-based Macs.
Riffworks is contains a Riff-based workflow, allowing guitarists to record short riffs and piece together a song in the applications interface. You can also add real-time effects, changing your sound and tone in a variety of ways.
The application also includes a virtual drummer module called InstantDrummer. Eight InstantDrummer sessions from top drum content providers (Drums on Demand, Discrete Drums, and Submersible Music) are included and dozens more have just been released, according to the company.
Riffworks allows users to jam online and collaborate with other users from within the application’s interface. A built-in broadcasting service also features support for one-click podcasting.
Riffworks costs $129.99 and is available from the company’s Web site.
