HighPoint offers Mac Pro-compatible RAID controller

HighPoint Technologies has announced that its RocketRAID 232x and 2310 Serial ATA (SATA) II RAID controllers support Apple’s Mac Pro. They cost $249 and $169 respectively.

Both controllers connect using PCI-Express. The 232x model supports up to eight individual drive mechanism, while the 2310 model supports up to four hard disks. Each controller supports RAID Levels 0, 1, 5, 10 and 50, as well as “Just a Bunch of Disk” (JBOD) configurations, and support Native Command Queue (NCQ), hot-swap and hot-plug features.

Universal binary downloads of drivers for both cards are available from HighPoint’s Web site.
