Touch-sensitive 24-inch iMac now available

Troll Touch has announced the release of a 24-inch Apple iMac with the company’s touchscreen conversion installed. The company also offers a separate kit for users who have already purchased the 24-inch iMac and would like to add this capability. The price for a 24-inch iMac with touch screen technology is $3,499. The component set installed on a customer-supplied 24-inch iMac is $1,499.

Troll Touch integrates its PSR-1 touch technology with the 24-inch iMac and Apple’s full like of other systems with integrated displays, as well as its line of Cinema Displays. The touchscreen operates with any non-sharp pointing device: A stylus, fingertip or gloved hand. The analog resistive touchscreen provides a resolution of up to 4096 by 4096 points, so you can turn a Mac into a touch-driven kiosk system, point of sale system or other device that can benefit from direct touch-driven input rather than mouse and keyboard input.

Touchscreen conversions average 10 - 15 business days, according to Troll Touch. The conversions are done at the company’s facility in Valencia, Calif.
