Arcadrome game released for Mac OS X

PolyEx has released Arcadrome, a new arcade-style action game for the Mac. It costs $17.95; a demo is available for download.

In Arcadrome, you have to protect the human species from certain doom at the hands of “ugly, loathsome and vile” aliens. To that end, you’re in an armed spaceship that collects alien energy within crystals assembled on the Arcadrome, the aliens’ vehicle launching site.

The game features 100 levels — every 10 levels you’ll be matched up against a “boss” alien that’s extra tough to beat. You can collect bonuses, too, and you have to beat the clock, otherwise you’ll be penalized.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later, 1GHz or faster Mac, including Intel (it’s a Universal binary), 64MB RAM and OpenGL accelerated graphics.
