MailTags adds IMAP support

Indev Software has upgraded its MailTags software to version 2.0. MailTags “tags” e-mail messages in Apple’s Mail application. MailTags 2.0 costs $29.95.

MailTags works as a plug-in for Mail. With MailTags installed, you can tag e-mail messages to help organize yourself or do more sophisticated searches.

This marks the “final” 2.0 release. MailTags 2.0 was previously available as a public beta version.

The new release adds Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) support, so for the first time you can access message tags from multiple computers. The 2.0 version also features an improved interface, the ability to view tags in Mail’s List view, dynamic coloring based on project, approaching due dates and priorities, integration with iCal, and better support for Mail’s own search tools and smart mailboxes. MailTags 2.0 also features compatibility with AppleScript.

MailTags 2.0 requires Mac OS X v10.4.8 or later. It’s a Universal binary.
