Cocktail 3.8 adds more than 100 new features

Maintain has announced the release of Cocktail 3.8 (Tiger Edition) for Mac OS X v10.4. The developer bills it as the biggest update o Cocktail in almost two years. Cocktail costs $14.95.

Cocktail is a general purpose Mac OS X utility that gathers together many advanced UNIX maintenance functions. It can help you check the status of your hard disks, disable or enable your Mac’s Sudden Motion Sensor (if equipped), run periodic system maintenance scripts, enable or disable Spotlight indexing, enable “Kiosk” mode, clear system, component, kernel caches and more, clear log files, adjust network speed, optimize settings for various types of network connections, and loads more.

New in the 3.8 release are major interface improvements, improvements to the log and cache clearing options, thorough networking optimization changes, improvements to Spotlight setting and indexing manipulation and so on.

Maintain recommends Cocktail 3.8 (Tiger Edition) for all users.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or higher. It’s a Universal binary.
