The Online Backup archives your Mac, online

The Online Backup is a new online backup and archival service targeted at Mac users. It lets you back up all of your digital media — photos, music, videos and more. It’s priced at $7.99 for the first gigabyte, $2 for each additional gigabyte, and a 30-day free trial is available.

Features of The Online Backup include 128-bit SSL-based encryption, support for automatic or pre-scheduled backups, compatibility not only with Macs but also with Windows PCs, Linux and Unix and Novell Netware-equipped systems, and localization for 21 different languages.

The Online Backup offers full file support including e-mail, and will perform incremental backup support and block-level differentials. The most recent versions of files are maintained along with up to 90 days’ worth of backups, so you can return to a specific version of a file if you need to.

When you need a file, you can either download it, or if you’re recovering from a catastrophic failure, the service can provide a DVD for you via next day delivery service.
