VectorWorks 2008 design software released

Nemetschek North America has released VectorWorks 2008, a major upgrade to its professional CAD software for Mac OS X and Windows.

VectorWorks comes in different versions depending on whether you’re a designer, architect, landscape architect, engineer or set designer. The software lets users draft in 2D and manipulate your designs in 3D.

New to this version is a streamlined interface containing a new heads-up data display, object selction highlighting and a new view bar; 2D plan views can now be rotated, new rotation modes have been added to 2D tools, more than 180 new marker styles have been added and the Tile command has been improved.

The software features unlimited color choices and supports swatches from Pantone, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams and more. Opacity control can now be manipulated by object, PDF and image files can now be referenced directly, Sketchup 6 and Autocad 2007/2008 import is supported, and much more.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4.10 or later, QuickTime 6 or later and a G4 or better (Intel included).
