QuickerTek on Monday introduced a $129.95 antenna upgrade for the Apple TV that it says can deliver improved performance.
The antenna upgrade is installed using a screwdriver. It adds a tri-band external antenna similar to the ones QuickerTek offers for the Mac Pro and Mac mini. The company claims the external antenna improves signal strength and range, and can help to reduce the wireless interference experienced by some Apple TV users.
The upgrade includes a three-foot cable that lets you place the antenna slightly away from the Apple TV, and free of interference from nearby electronics. It’s compatible with all 802.11b, g and n Wi-Fi equipment.
