SubRosaSoft.com has announced the release of FileSalvage 6.1, an updated version of its Mac OS X data recovery utility. FileSalvage 6.1 is a free update for registered users of FileSalvage 6.0; the software costs $89.95.
FileSalvage can recover files that have been accidentally deleted or stored on a drive before it was re-initialized or formatted. It works with Mac OS X, Linux, Windows, Flash devices, scratched CDs and almost any other media or file system recognized by the Mac.
The updated version, 6.1, is fully compatible with Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard,” according to SubRosaSoft.com. It also improves support for camera cards and MS-DOS-based drives.
